About this Kominka
If you are interested in doing a renovation, I'd love to hear from you!
This is my grandfather's house and it has been uninhabited for almost 20 years, so the floor and roof are quite decayed, but the pillars seem to be strong.
The pillars seem to be strong (confirmed by a building official).
There is a large earthen floor, a horigotatsu (a sunken kotatsu) originally built more than 20 years ago, and a sunken hearth built more than 20 years ago.
It is located on a national highway, but traffic is not good, so you can only get there by car.
The picture only shows the front side, but the back side is not used now, so the grass is growing freely, but it used to be used as a field.
It is located in the mountains, so if you walk down the slope from the field, you will find a stream.
(It is high up so there is no flooding or anything like that.)
You can get a lot of butterbur on the slope around May.
When I was a child, it was pleasant to hear the sound of the stream when I went to bed at night.
There is a lot of stuff left over from when we rented it out to people for a few years, but they are going to remove it in July.
